The Ha Tribe (hazoku) is a small nomadic tribe and ethnic group known for its hunters. Its members originally settled in the north-western region of Hokkan but were compelled to move to warmer places in the east when temperatures began to drop. It is Tomite's birthplace and is featured in Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden.
Background[]
The Ha people are an ethnic group in Hokkan. Tan skin, dark hair, and a shorter stature are all conventional Ha characteristics. They practice subsistence hunting and are trained to ride horses from a young age. One of the four beast gods, Genbu, is worshiped within the tribe, and they are staunch believers in the Celestial Warriors and their Priestess despite public opinion.
Once a year, the Ha Tribe holds a three-day winter festival where they pray to Genbu to help them survive the harsh winter. They also celebrate by lighting bonfires, cooking delicious foods, and dancing. Participants are encouraged to dress their best and don traditional masks.
