Story[]

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden[]

Introduction[]

He is the founder of the Kutou Special Taskforce. When Uruki and Soruen arrive in Kutou, which is attacked by bandits, Uruki uses his wind power to keep the chaos from raging on. After the civilians thank him, Hakei launches a surprise kick at him. Uruki dodges and Hakei even tells him that he is impressive. Uruki will join the taskforce.

The Treaty[]

Hakei is mentioned alot by Hien and Shigi when he has not taken physical appearance. He appears next to tell Shigi that he will go to the Kutou border. It was later revealed that he went there to sign a treaty with Hokkan, agreeing to eliminate the priestess and her warriors together.

The incident in Oroko Valley[]

He appears last when Takiko is successfuly captured. Hakei takes a look of her and walks away. He makes another and last appearance in the final volume of Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden when Kutou fails to eliminate the warriors and their priestess and it's then that he admits defeat, enough so that it surprises Shigi who is still bent on revenge against the priestess but dies together with Hien moments after.
