Shin is a shell-shaped weapon that can create illusions and hypnotize the wielder's opponents. It is a powerful tool used by Tomo in Fushigi Yuugi: The Mysterious Play and OVA 1.
Abilities[]
The Shin targets the five senses, causing its victims to perceive things differently than they truly are. A barren desert in Sairou can transform into an abundant oasis or bustling township if the wielder desires. It can also alter the appearance of the user and others around them.
In some cases, the wielder can trap their enemies inside the Shin itself with a complex hallucination. These types of attacks start by the target entering a deep hypnotic state. Then, the Shin is able to access the their memories and the wielder can draw on them to construct a more realistic and personal illusion. Additionally, the user can "act" inside these illusions to ensure a certain outcome. Typically, the targets experience temporary amnesia and the user works to combat any recollection.
Illusions, hallucinations, or hypnosis are only able to be induced through the conduction of the user's chi/qi. The more powerful one's life force is, the more powerful the Shin becomes.
Story[]
