Shinzaho (Holy Throne) is an artifact that is required to summon a beast god if at least one Celestial Warrior dies and/or cannot complete their duties. During the summoning ceremony, a Priestess must select an item on her person to become the Shinzaho. After the beast god is summoned, the Shinzaho must be taken to a shrine which should be guarded by the remaining warriors or their spirits.

Artifact

The Shinzaho of Genbu.

Genbu

The Shinzaho of Genbu first appears in Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. Gifted to Taikiko by Oracle Anlu, the necklace has the ability to detect the location of the remaining Celestial Warriors of Genbu. Its shrine is located in the capital city of Hokkan, Touran and is guarded by Tomite and Hikitsu’s spirits.

In Fushigi Yuugi: The Mysterious Play, the necklace becomes one of the Shinzahos required in order to summon Suzaku and Seiryuu.

Byakko

It is a hand-mirror belonging to Suzuno, which she apparently carried during the Summoning Ceremony of Byakko. It is guarded by one of the Byakko Seven, Tatara, after Suzuno leaves the world. The shinzaho sprouts from a seed that he keeps hidden and blooms like a flower.

Suzaku

Mayo Sakaki shows the Shinzaho of Suzaku in her finger.

Miaka's Shinzaho is first revealed in the first OVA as the ring she wore when she and Tamahome had an unofficial wedding.

Miaka had a second shinzaho which was revealed in Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden as her and Taka's unborn child. The second Shinzaho happened because in the second OVA, it was shown that she and Tamahome once again called Suzaku to completely seal Tenkou away.

Mayo Sakaki's "shinzaho" was the ring on her finger.
