Taiitsukun's Gifts are powerful objects and/or abilities presented by the grand sage. Given only in dire circumstances, these gifts are able to enhance a warrior's chi/qi and channel it through objects or chi/qi blasts.

Ashes of the Holy Scroll[]
After the summoning ceremony is deemed a failure, Taiitsukun sprinkles the ashes of the Universe of the Four Gods scroll over Miaka, claiming they will help draw out any power she might hold as a priestess. This power manifests as a chi/qi barrier that only appears when she is in grave danger. The rest of the company inspect their heavenly gifts with awe and appreciation, which fuels Miaka's determination to try once again to summon Suzaku.
Chi/Qi Blasts[]
Upon receiving their gifts, Tamahome is left without a physical item, leading him to believe that he did not receive anything from Taiitsukun. This impression is not aided by the sage's insistence that she had “nothing” for the warrior because he would immediately try to sell any "gift from the old granny" he was given. Shocked and dismayed, Tamahome remains oblivious of his gift until Chapter 40, where the true extent of his powers are revealed through a powerful chi/qi blast. Coupled with his expert physical combat skills, the chi/qi blasts significantly aid his efforts against the powerful Nakago.
Holy Sword[]
Hotohori's item is a noble sword capable of repelling chi/qi blasts, lightening strikes, and projecting a chi/qi barrier.
Bracelets/Armbands[]
Nuriko's gift is fitting for his character. The unassuming, delicate metal bracelets he receives amplify his colossal strength by channeling his chi/qi. However, when under extreme stress, the bracelets can transform into ornate but powerful metal armbands which provide him with an immense amount of strength, far exceeding his already impressive abilities.
Prayer Beads[]
Chichiri's Shaolin necklace, which is adorned with standard Buddhist prayer beads and jewels, is blessed with a chi/qi enhancement by the sage. This allows him to cast even more powerful spells that strengthen his illusion powers, chi/qi barriers/blasts, and protection charms.
Diamond Tessen[]
The prize-possession and well-sought-after weapon of the Mt. Reikaku bandits receives an valuable upgrade when Taiitsukun turns the weathered steel fan into a diamond one. This not only strengthens the physical integrity of the fan but, through the channeling of Tasuki's chi/qi, increases his control over the size, temperature, and direction of its flames.
Divine Herbal Medicine[]
The healer Mitsukake is gifted a small jar of highly effective medicine. When it makes contact with the skin, it has the ability to heal all wounds.
Scroll[]
Chiriko receives a scroll from Taiitsukun.
